Awards

NMASC Advisor of the Year Award

Every year NMASC recognizes one middle level and one high school advisor who has done an oustanding job serving as their school's Student Council advisor and honors them at the annual NMASC State Conference. The advisors who win this state award are automatically nominated for the prestigious Warren E. Shull National Advisor of the Year award, presented by the National Association of Student Councils.

Submission deadline: September 30, 2017
This award is sponsored by Campus Specialties/Herff Jones.

NMASC Administrator of the Year Award

NMASC established this award to honor those school administrators who have demonstrated extended support of Student Council and Student Council activities at your school.

Deadline: October 31 (October is National Principal's Month)

NMASC Lifetime Membership Award

NMASC established this award to honor individuals who have supported the New Mexico Association of Student Councils. Please submit a letter of nomination to: NMASC | PO Box 95468 | Albuquerque, NM 87199

NMASC Student Council of the Year Award

  • This award determines which councils have excelled and demonstrated success in a wide range of student council activities. Award levels are Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Download the NMASC Student Council of the Year Award Form for 2016-17:

NMASC Platinum Student Council of the Year Award

The NMASC Platinum Student Council of the Year Award is selected from NMASC Student Council of the Year Award applicants who have achieved Gold Student Council of the Year accolades for 3 consecutive years.

NMASC Hummingbird Award

The NMASC Hummingbird Award is awarded to those students who have attended the NMASC Summer Leadership Workshop for six consecutive years, and is presented at the Workshop following the state conference.

Competitions

Banner of the Year Competition

The NMASC Banner of the Year Competition provides council planning, teamwork and creative interpretation/expression in support of the annual state conference theme.

Roll Call of the Year Competition

The NMASC Roll Call of the Year Competition promotes spirit and camaraderie among participants of the annual state conference as they vocalize a common theme.

Scrapbook of the Year Competition

The goal of the NMASC Scrapbook of the Year Competition is to provide documentation and summary of a Council's year of communication, planning, activity and service from state conference to state conference (February to February).

Project of the Year Competition

The NMASC Project of the Year Competition encourages and showcases projects which exemplify the goals and standards of the New Mexico Association of Student Councils. From now through the 2017 state conference, the state focus for community service is the elderly.

Advisor Dawnell Massey from Artesia Jr. High School, was named the NMASC 2016 High School Adviser of the Year at the 2016 NMASC State Conference.
