As an Advisor, you know your council members very well. At least, that’s what you think. The following article discusses many interesting and surprising things that you may not know about not only your council, but Generation Z in general (Generation Z are kids and teens who are growing up in the 21st Century). The 2017-2018 school year is almost here!! For some of us, it’s already underway. Time sure does fly!
Elections are one of the most important parts of any council. Be sure to encourage students to run, and get out of their comfort zone! Get a head-start on homecoming by brainstorming themes and events with your council. You can find awesome ideas at https://www.pinterest.com/explore/homecoming-themes-ideas/ .
Some other ideas to ramp up school spirit include a student section/pep club at games, pep busses for away games, and even a beginning of the year Rowdy-O or Pep Assembly. Here’s to a fun and productive year!

As the school year draws to a close, many students are eager to go on summer vacation. Everyone has worked hard, from staff to students and administration. Reward this hard work by holding class competitions, a movie, teacher luncheon, or simply giving out thank-you cards to staff.
In addition, get the younger ones ready for next year by holding 5th or 8th grade orientations. Now is also an ideal time for council officer elections, reviewing the council constitution, and planning for the year ahead.

State Testing had begun across the Land of Enchantment. Thus, beginning a stressful time for staff and students alike. This time also begins the end for our seniors high school careers, as they begin the next chapter in life.
