Online registration opens on February 10 and closes at midnight on April 15. The postmark deadline for payment is May 2. Advisors must register their school's delegation; students may not register on their own.
The NMASC Summer Leadership Workshop is an outstanding annual leadership training and development workshop for middle level and high school students and advisors! Make friends while working, learning and experiencing leadership activities in an energized, safe environment—all in three days! There is no limit to the number of students who may attend from a school; you are encouraged to bring as many as you wish for this early summer training experience.
Dorms will be assigned based on the receipt date of the school's completed registration and payment.
- The school advisor will submit a dorm rooming list - 2 students per room.
- IF you register an odd number of students by gender, please indicate which of your students is willing to room with a student from another school.
- IF you choose to room a student in a single room, in the dorm by birth gender, you will receive a separate invoice totaling the cost difference for the single dorm room. Payment for this single room invoice must be USPS postmarked by May 2, 2023 (understand the student will use facilities available in the dorm).
Students going into 9th grade will be considered middle school students. Middle Level students attending Summer Workshop must have completed 6th grade and must be a member in good standing in their school's Student Council. At least one advisor per 15 students must register with and remain on campus for the workshop. When you leave the workshop, you will be energized, prepared with leadership skills, and ready to begin a new school year with enthusiasm!
The 2024 NMASC Summer Workshop will be held June 4-7 on the beautiful campus of New Mexico Tech in Socorro. The cost is $375/student - includes registration, workshop materials, workshop t-shirts, meals, and lodging. With a pre-registration minimum of 7 students per school, one advisor per school may register for $250; otherwise the cost is $375/advisor. Due to an increase in costs from NM Tech, there will be a $30 charge for a private room.
Transportation to and from Socorro is the responsibility of the school.
There are no refunds, however we allow same-gender substitutions at no charge by May 30.
The NMASC Summer Workshop program is designed to provide optimal opportunities for participants to achieve preparation for their leadership roles when they return to their schools. For this reason, students are to attend all workshop activities.
IMPORTANT SUMMER WORKSHOP DATES:
- February 10: Summer Workshop online registration open
- March 13: Deadline for JC application
- April 15: Summer Workshop online pre-registration deadline – closes at midnight
- May 2: USPS postmark deadline for Summer Workshop pre-registration required mail-in forms/payment
- May 30: Deadline for substitutions
- June 4-7: NMASC Summer Leadership Workshop
HOW TO REGISTER
The deadlines are very important. Advisors must register their students as part of their school delegation; students may not register themselves individually. If you are a student and wish to attend the NMASC Summer Workshop, please talk to your advisor.
STEP 1 (COMPLETE BY APRIL 15)
- Make your school's online reservation
Please double-check the spelling of your students' names; the information you provide builds our database. Once you submit the online reservation form, you will receive a confirmation email (be sure to check your spam folder if you don't see it). This confirmation email is also your invoice. The online form will help you calculate your registration fees. Be sure to do this by April 17!

STEP 2 (COMPLETE BY MAY 2)
- Download the Student/Parent Participant Commitment Form
- Health Information Form
- Download the Dorm Room Assignments
- Download the School Permission Form for NMASC Events
Print and distribute the student/parent participant commitment and health info forms to each student who will be attending. You will send all of the completed forms along with your payment to NMASC by May 2.
STEP 3 (COMPLETE BY MAY 2)
Mail all forms and payments to NMASC.
Please put all of the following in ONE envelope to NMASC, postmarked by May 2:
- Printout of your confirmation email (see step 1 above)
- Completed Student Info/Participant Commitment Forms (see step 2 above)
- Completed Dorm Room Assignment (see step 2 above)
- ONE school check (made payable to NMASC) for workshop registration fees
